Final Digipak Idea

This is the idea for our final digipak. Our front cover will be a picture of a polaroid hanging on a line, where the polaroid will be a photograph of the girl character. The picture will be in black and white and the photograph of the girl will be a close-up of her face to show that she's upset. The back cover will be a strip of four pictures of the relationship being to fall apart. The cover that the audience will see when they open up the digipak will be similar to the front cover, however the polaroid will be a photograph of the couple in the happiest times of the relationship. When the digipak is fully opened out, the audience will be able to see that the photographs are a timeline of the relationship. This reflects our music video as the relationship begins happy, which is shown in the flashback and the beginning with the voiceover. Then throughout the course of the music video, the audience can see the realtionship beginning to deteriorate and finally broken apart at the end when the girl is shown throwing the letter off the cliff and climbs to higher ground.

The inside of our digipak will contain the middle cover and the two covers on the left and the right that would hold the discs. The middle cover will be our track list where the tracks will be listed on the letter that is the main focus in our music video. We thought this idea would be a great effect to use as it allowed the digipak to be relateable to the music video. The two other covers behind the discs will contain quotes from songs lyrics from the tracks. The left side, which will be the happy quotes from Christina Perri's songs and will be behind the CD disc. The right side will show the sad quotes, which will be behind the DVD. This will further show the audience that the CD is the girl's heart with the happy quotes and the sad quotes behind the DVD which is the boy's heart.

Digipak Idea 3

This is another idea for our digipak that shows the front cover and the back cover. This idea is set out to mimic a book.

Digipak Idea 2

This is our second idea for our digipak, it shows the front cover and the track list. It is fairly simplistic and isn't as abstract as the previous idea. The front cover has a ribbon tied across it in a bow which aims to represent the idea of a photo album. Like our first idea, we wanted the personal aspect of our product to show through the digipak. By using the theme of a photoalbum, it demonstrates the girl character's memories of the relationship. This would be very treasured to her, so it would hold her feelings and emotions, similarly to the idea of a diary or journal. The track list is written on the letter that is in our music video, further adding to the emotion and feeling captured in our product which we then wanted to apply to our digipak.

Digipak Idea 1

For our didgipak, we had to think up some ideas for the design and what the final outcome will be. This was the first idea for the front cover of our digipak. The symbols used were designed to suggest the doodles of the girl character. This adds to the personal aspect of our digipak as the audience can see her drawings. People may doodle in their diary or journal, so this idea highlights her feelings as the audience can get an insight into her thoughts. The symbols used are fairly random to show random scribblings, however we decided that the symbols should represent elements of love. For example, the Chinese symbol for love is used on the front cover. We were inspired by tha album cover of 'Damien Rice' as we liked the abstract patterns and wanted to include symbolism on our own digipak.

Digipak Analysis 3

This is Take That's album 'Progress'. The image and the album name interlink as the picture shows the band members 'progressing' and links to the idea of evolution.

Digipak Analysis 2

This digipak is Rihanna's album 'Loud'. The main focus on the front cover is a close-up shot of the artist's face. This suggests that the album is targeting her fans there is artist's name is not displayed on the cover, but her fans would she would know who she is. This suggests that the album is targeting a smaller selection of people, rather than aiming it at the general public.

Digipak Analysis 1

This is the digipak for Green Day's album 'Bullet in a Bible." Straight away from the title, it is evident that a their genre of music focuses on the topic of rebellion. This is further demonstrated through the slanted font of the band name and the album name. This could represent a deviance of society and unconformity which suggests that the genre of music that the audience should expect is rock. The genre is also depicted through the image of one of the band members on the font cover.
